Wednesday 3rd August 7.30pm – 10.30pm (bar open from 7pm) // Concrete // £5
We’re back and, with some fingers-up-and-gesturing-wildly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, we’ve got a cracking August line-up to bring our London audiences.
Comedian and playwright Tom Basden will be back in action, with the American short story writers Jarred McGinnis and Sam Taradash in our regular monthly night. For those of you who have been to the last couple, you’ll now be proud to know the addition of amusing American food is now a fixed item on the running order!

Joining us for this show are author Nii Ayikwei Parkes (http://www.niiparkes.com/). Nii writes poetry, prose and articles, was an associate Writer-In-Residence on BBC Radio 3 and was the featured face for poetry in the 2004 Time Out London Guide. He is also contributor to several magazines and literary journals including The New Writer, The Interpreter’s House, The Accra Mail, The Map of Austin Poetry Journal, Dreamcatcher, Sable, and Wasafiri.
and Harry Venning (http://www.harryvenning.co.uk/). Harry is an award-winning cartoonist, illustrator and comedy writer. A weekly contributor to The Guardian with the Clare In The Community strip, his work has also appeared in The Mail On Sunday, Sunday Telegraph, Independent, Sunday Times, The Stage and Radio Times, as well as publications in Canada, Switzerland, South Africa and New Zealand. Plus books, lots of books.
Harry will be presenting his ‘how to be a cartoonist’ show – it’s very funny indeed, we promise!
